Need For Speed: Undercover Reviewed

Sequel 12 in the 15 year long “Need for Speed” series, “Undercover” combines the trends found in games past but offers no major innovations. However even though the story, gameplay, and graphics are flawed, the game can be entertaining so long as your mind is shut off.

Need for Speed Undercover is seems to be an attempt to cash in on the success of Most Wanted, after ProStreet flopped with critics and fans. The game itself is as straightforward as you’d expect; race, come first, win cash, buy new cars. The storyline portrays you as an undercover cop hunting down criminals.

There is a great variety of cars to select from, but there is nothing new or exciting about this release over any the previous Need For Speed releases.

The game is constantly freezing, despite a few upgrades provided by the developers after its release. While the bug fixes seem to have improved play, the game is nowhere near the slickness that one would expect.
